Music Director
(part-time position)
Chaverim Youth Band (the Band) is seeking a new Music Director who can effectively lead and prepare the members of the Band in their ministry of music. Currently, the Band is comprised of young people, between the ages of 11 to 20, and representing various Christian denominations from Simcoe County. Practices occur on a weekly basis between September and June of every year, and are held in local chuches within the County. Performances are booked in churches throughout the County and in other parts of southern Ontario.
Key Qualifications:
· A vital and mature Christian commitment
· A strong music background including theology of worship
· Capable of building upon the vision for the Band’s music ministry
· The ability to work well with young people, and process ideas and suggestions in positive ways
· Strong leadership skills including administration, organization and communication
· A commitment to support the priorities and goals of the Band
· Ability to work flexibly, particularly on Sundays
Start date for this position is May 2012, with flexibility to transition with current Music Director prior to May.
